Welcome to the Heart of Virginia! Actually, the true center of the state is located a few miles away. But Farmville is close enough, and we're glad you're here.

We've been getting ready for this annual pilgrimage, this rite of passage to spring, for a whole year. Just look around you. There are thousands of people from every walk of life. Young and old, rich and poor. We've come together as one in a place we choose. We'll laugh and hug and talk out loud because, today, it's all right. It's all right to have a family reunion in the middle of the street. It's all right to share tears of joy with those you see all too seldom. No one will fault you if you raise your hands and kick up your heels and dance. It's a party, a celebration of our past, present and future. Listen to the music and smell the aroma of hot dogs and barbecue. Watch a child's face light up with magic and wonder. Settle a score with a smile and a kind word. It is a day of peace and unity.
