On the stage of the old State Theatre, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. with Rev. Joe McCutchen of the Farmville United Methodist Church delivering the invocation and the Prince Edward County Middle School Chorus providing the music for the first portion of the program.
At 11:00 hear Glen Shelton. This country music singer has opened for many Nashville Recording Artists including Leanne Womack, Lonestar, and Ricky Van Shelton. Glen has performed at the Heart of Virginia Festival before backed by his band. Today Glen brings you his wonderful, down-to-earth vocal stylings of mainly top-40 country hits as well as a few of his original songs. At 12:10 the prince Edward County High School Chorus will perform a collection of songs that they have put together under the direction of Elizabeth McCutchen.
At 1:10 enjoy the bluegrass music of Old School Freight Train. These talented musicians met in college and formed a band that would be "tight," playing spicy bluegrass with Dawg music, latin rhythms and a mix of originals. It is this type of a one-of-a-kind sound that won Old School Freight Train second place out of 12 competing bands at the famous Telluride, Colorado bluegrass festival.
