Celebrate the 21st Anniversary of the Heart of Virginia Festival with a variety of entertainment for all ages!


To start the evening from 4:00-5:30, an air show will take place bringing the visual delights for all early visitors to the Farmville Airport. A wing-walking team will be featured, along with a variety of aerobatic stunts that are sure to dazzle and amaze young and old.

[Betsy Q] Children will be delighted by the musical entertainment of Betsy Q from 5:30 to 6:30. Betsy Q has been a household name to the children of America for over 10 years. A songwriter, musician and performer, Betsy Q sings music that is upbeat, educational, and fun!

Steve Bassett, a Virginia R&B legend with a recording studio located right here in Farmville, will be performing his unique style of music which has been characterized as a synthesis of America's music. His tunes combine blues, r&b, gospel and rock & roll. Steve has co-authored the song "Sweet Virginia Breeze" with Robbin Thompson, which is being considered by the General Assembly as the state song of Virginia. [Fireworks] Following Steve Bassett, receive the warmest Heart of Virginia welcomes from this year's festival chairman, Debbie Coffin, with a brief demonstration from the Virginia National Guard at 8:30.

Farmville favorites Luv Twins who didn't get to play on Wednesday due to the rain will delight the crowd with their show. Ronald and Donald Smith know how to entertain a crowd and have them snapping their fingers and tapping their feet.

The time-honored tradition of fireworks will take place at approximately 9:00 with a spectacular display provided by the Town Of Farmville that is always a crowd-pleasing event.

Just when the evening could not get any better, at 9:30 you will be captivated by the vocal stylings of none other than Percy Sledge. With his sweet and soulful warbling of "When A Man Loves A Woman", Percy has wooed generations of fans from all over the world. Percy will also share with the crowd his newest hit, "Blue Night", revealing that the ensuing years have brought the singular voice and delicate expressiveness to new heights. There is no charge for the concert; however parking is $5.00 per vehicle.
All proceeds generated from parking fees go to the festival.



[Map] To get to the airport, take Rt. 45 north to Rt. 637. Take a left and follow the road through a stop sign until it turns into Airport Road. The road will curve back to the north with the airport on your left.
