	The First Fridays concert, the first event of this year's Heart Of Virginia festival, was an overwhelming success! The Fat Ammons band rocked and the turnout must have been around 1000 people. The sun shone down brightly on the event until it dropped below the horizon.

		Wanda Whitus was the Heart Of Virginia festival board member responsible for the First Fridays event. She thanked everyone for coming including distinguished guest Representative for the area, Virgil Goode.

First Fridays is always a great event for all of the family to get out together and have a great, enjoyable evening. There were a number of families out together this year having fun.

The children always know how to enjoy themselves occasionally entertain the adults at the same time. Whether they were dancing to the music, playing at the Appomatox river or showing off skills which hinted at a future in the NFL, a splendid time was had by all!

It started to get chilly once the sun got low in the sky. That didn't stop everyone from partying on till the end of the show at 8:30pm. Then it was time to head home but there will be more First Fridays to enjoy in Farmville this summer!
