

At the Farmville Airport located in Cumberland County Saturday, May 3rd, 4:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Heart of Virginia Festival with your favorite sounds from the beach! The sponsors of this year's Heart of Virginia Festival and the Board of Directors are proud to present a fantastic evening of beach music, the music that never outlives its feel-good appeal. We'll start off with Band of Oz performing from 4:30 until 6:00 p.m. Their hits include "Shaggin," "Ocean Boulevard," and "Over the Rainbow."
This year's headliner is the timeless talent of Bill Pinkney & The Original Drifters! This group. led by Bill Pinkney, truly has endured through the decades. Begun in 1953, Bill Pinkney and the Original Drifters have provided the world with a special kind of music, music that transcends generations and social barriers. Their hits include "Money Honey," "Fools Fall in Love," and "Such a Night." They take the stage from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
A Central Virginia favorite, The Embers, will keep the good feeling moving along with more fantastic beach music from 8:00 until the fireworks. Their music, combined with their unique showmanship, will provide entertainment for all ages.
Food will be in plentiful supply throughout the evening. The Prince Edward County 4-H Club will be serving barbecue with all the fixin's. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided by the Farmville Exchange Club. Other goodies, such as fresh fruit salads and drinks, will also be available. There is no charge for the concert; however, parking is $3.00 per vehicle. All proceeds generated from the parking fees go to the Festival.


To get to the airport, take Rt. 45 north to Rt. 637. Take
a left and follow the road through a stop sign until it turns into Airport
Road. The road will curve back to the north with the airport on your left.
